President of Republic, Rwandan Counterpart Oversee Signing of Bilateral Cooperation Agreements

On 23 February, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and His Excellency Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, supervised at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott the signing of agreements to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The agreements, signed by Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, and his Rwandan counterpart, Dr. Vincent Biruta, include a general cooperation agreement in the areas of common interest and another in the field of air transport. The general agreement encompasses the promotion of cooperation in political, economic, social, cultural, scientific, and technical fields, as well as development fields, including trade, industry, security, agriculture, livestock, transport, fishing, mining, education, scientific research, culture, health, environmental protection, tourism, handicrafts, and sports. Under this general agreement, Mauritania and Rwanda pledge to promote the exchange of information, visits, knowledge, and experience in areas of common interest and promote participation in activities, forums, conferences, and exhibitions organized by the countries related to the fields stipulated in this agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by the delegations accompanying the two presidents.
