Rwandan President Begins Friendly, Working Visit to Mauritania

On 23 February, Mr. Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, arrived in Nouakchott at the beginning of a two-day friendly and working visit to Mauritania. Upon his arrival at Nouakchott Oumtounsy international airport, the Rwandan President was welcomed by His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic. The Rwandan guest was also received by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal Messaoud, the Minister Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counselor at the Presidency of the Republic, the Director of Cabinet of the President of the Republic, the Chiefs of Staff of the armed and security forces, the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, the Wali of Western Nouakchott, and the Vice-President of the Nouakchott Region. After listening to the Rwandan and Mauritanian national anthems and reviewing formations of the armed forces, who had come to pay the honors, the Rwandan President greeted the President of the Constitutional Council, the leader of the democratic opposition, members of the government, the senior State officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of international organizations accredited to Mauritania.
