Mauritania Participates in International Dates Council

On behalf of the minister of agriculture, the secretary-general of the ministry, Mr. Momme ould Beibatt, participated Wednesday in the Al-Ahsa governorate (Saudi Arabia) in the ministerial meeting of the international council for dates, scheduled on 15-16 February. In a speech on the occasion, the secretary-general of the ministry pointed out that this council will be an effective tool to boost international cooperation between the member countries and reinforce the efforts made to ensure sustainable development of this vital agricultural sector. He expressed Mauritania’s readiness to contribute to strengthening the cooperation between the member states in the field of experience exchange to improve productivity of date palms, research, and innovation.
