The Malian special envoy: “The President of the Republic has reiterated his personal commitment to us so that our efforts can be crowned with success”

Excellency Mr. Assimi Goïta, the President of the Transitional Authority, Head of State of the sisterly Republic of Mali. The message was transmitted during an audience that His Excellency the President of the Republic granted on 23 December at the Presidential Palace, to Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the sisterly Republic of Mali, Special Envoy of the President of the Transitional Authority. Soon after the meeting, the Malian special envoy told the Mauritanian news agency (AMI) that he was honored by the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, adding that he is in Nouakchott carrying a message of friendship, fraternity, solidarity, and respect from His Excellency the President of the Transitional Authority, Head of State of Mali to his elder brother His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. He added that the message falls in the framework of the political transition in Mali and the close ties of history, geography, culture, and religion that link Mauritania and Mali. Mr. Abdoulaye Diop indicated that he briefed the President of the Republic on the transition process in Mali. He added that he would transmit his advice to his brother for the smooth running of the current process and the holding of transparent elections. He stressed that Mali has always benefited and continues to benefit from the advice and guidance of the President of the Republic and his constant and fraternal support. He pointed out that what is happening in Mali primarily concerns Mauritania, adding that the President of the Republic reiterated his commitment on our side to ensure the success of our efforts.
