President of Republic Arrives in Conakry

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani, arrived, Monday evening, in the Guinean capital, Conakry, to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect of Guinea, His Excellency Professor Alpha Conde, for a new presidential term. His Excellency the President of the Republic was received at Conakry International Airport by the Guinean President-elect with an important delegation from the Guinean government. After the two presidents listened to the Mauritanian and Guinean national anthems, His Excellency the President of the Republic reviewed armed forces detachments that came to pay him honor, before his Excellency greeted the commanders of the military and security units, members of the government, high-ranking Guinean figures and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to this country, while the Guinean President greeted the members of the delegation accompanying His Excellency the President of the Republic. Then, the President of the Republic greeted the representatives of the Mauritanian community in Guinea Conakry after they came to receive his Excellency. It should be noted that President Alpha Conde was elected for a third presidential term, after obtaining nearly 60 percent of the votes in the presidential elections, of which the first round was held on 18 October.
