Justice Minister Discusses Cooperation With US Ambassador-at-Large

On 8 February, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallahi Ould Boya, received, in Nouakchott, HE Mr. Rashad Hussain, the United States Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, who is participating in the activities of the second African Conference for Promoting Peace, currently held in the capital, Nouakchott, under the theme: "Promoting peace in the world". The Minister held talks with the Ambassador-at-Large on the various aspects of cooperation between our country and the United States of America, particularly in the fight against terrorism, extremism, and human trafficking. The Minister also briefed the ambassador on the important reforms undertaken by the Mauritanian government, particularly in human rights. Mr. Rashad Hussain praised the efforts made by the Mauritanian government in this area, citing the ratification of the Law on the prevention of human trafficking and the Law on associations.
