The project is part of a partnership agreement signed between the Nouakchott Region and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. The project will be jointly financed by the Nouakchott Regional Council, the African Fund for Support to Decentralized International Cooperation for Local Authorities, and the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. In his intervention, the minister stressed the strength of the fraternal relations between Mauritania and the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, highlighting the importance of fruitful cooperation between the two countries. He added that this project will train young people, integrate them into active life, and reduce unemployment, which is a big dilemma that must be addressed. On her part, the President of the Nouakchott Region, Mme. Fatimettou Mint Abdel Malick pointed out the importance of this agreement, considering that youth employment is a priority, noting that unemployment today is the biggest threat to social peace in developing countries because of its association with widespread poverty, crime, and school dropout.
