Mauritania Commemorates World Population Day

The Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Promotion of Productive Sectors, commemorated Sunday, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), World Population Day under the theme: "Let's make access to reproductive health information and services a national priority." The commemoration of World Population Day, which falls on July 11th of each year, aims to raise awareness on population issues that lie at the heart of the national development plans. The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Mohamed El Mostapha Ould Abdi Ould Ijiyid, said that this ceremony represents a unique opportunity to promote work in development and population issues.
