Prime Minister Represents President of Republic at NEPAD 38th Meeting

His Excellency Prime Minister Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal, representing the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, participated, Tuesday afternoon via videoconference, in the 38th meeting of the Steering Committee of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). The agenda of the meeting includes some opening speeches by the Chairperson of the Commission, the Chair of the African Union, and the Chair of the Steering Committee, in addition to a progress report on the continental response to COVID-19, the special envoys, the annual report, and a report on the status of signatures and ratification of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) and the acceleration of the implementation of such a project. NEPAD aims to achieve development in Africa by developing the African economy and integrating it into the global economy by following a plan to achieve sustainable development that focuses on priority sectors such as infrastructure, especially in the field of information technology, energy, transportation, water and sanitation, human resources development, poverty alleviation, attention to education, health, and agriculture, and creating regional economic integration while ensuring the effective participation of civil society and the private sector, so that they become an integral part of the development process.
