Mauritanian Military Patrol Comes under Fire after Approaching Moroccan Defensive Position

A statement released by the Mauritanian Army, Wednesday, indicated that ‘following the preliminary investigation carried out after a military patrol came under fire on Tuesday evening, it turned out that the patrol had approached the defensive position of a Moroccan force which considered it a hostile target ". The statement pointed out that the patrol responded to the source of fire in accordance with the rules of engagement, before identification was established and the shooting ceased, specifying at the same time that the shooting did not result in any damage to the patrol crew.
