Mauritania Condemns Terrorist Attack on Tanker Off Saudi Coast

Our country strongly condemned, in a statement released on Wednesday, the terrorist attack which targeted an oil tanker off the Saudi coast on Monday night and expressed its support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any action targeting its vital economic facilities or undermining its security and stability. Here is the full text of the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad strongly condemns the terrorist operation which targeted an oil tanker off the Saudi coast, Monday at 00:00 local time, causing a fire on board the ship while unloading its cargo at the port of Jeddah. The criminal act, which resulted from a violent terrorist attack on the interests of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, comes after a marine mine explosion last month that damaged another tanker off the Saudi coast. The Islamic Republic of Mauritania supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any action targeting its vital economic installations or undermining its security and stability”.
